 Hope is defiant. 
 
 Hope looks negative 
 emotions 
 and circumstances 
 in the eye 
 and stands tall. 
 Hope will not be 
 cowed 
 or bowed down. 
    
 Hope will not be 
 oppressed or 
 suppressed. 
 Hope will rise 
 though all else cry despair. 
    
Hope will hope
against hope
and break through
to seize the
impossible.
Hope stands on certainty
and builds for eternity.
 
Hope silences the cynic
and causes the sorrowful to sing.
Hope heals the past
and redefines
the future.
 
Hope lifts the head
and strengthens the heart.
 
Hope proclaims a
new day
because
the Son
has risen.
