Jesus meets...
This term we will be looking at the life of Jesus through the people Jesus encountered. We continued today by learning about when Jesus was tempted by Satan them. We talked about how Jesus resisted temptation and quoted God’s truth – the bible. We also discussed what temptation can look like for us and what can help us to do the right thing. This includes prayer and knowing God’s truth in the Bible.
The focus for follow up this week is to look at how we can learn some bible verses. Learning scripture will help us to know the truth and be strong to obey. There are different ways that we can learn scripture and we started today with some in our groups as well as bringing more home to do. Singing is one great way to learn bible verses. There are some links above to great YouTube channels with scripture songs on.
There's also a sheet with some other scripture learning ideas on so that you can find some ideas that particularly work for your family.
As well as learning scripture we want children to grow in how to apply it to their lives. The best way of them doing this is as you model to them the use of Scripture to actually solve our problems and encourage us. When your children have questions, problems, concerns, or even just need a reminder, open the Bible and talk through it. Take time to discuss what the verses you’re learning mean.
